Travel from Khiva with a local guide and cook authentic Khorezmian dishes with a local chef. Choose shivit oshi, tuhum barak, or Khorezm plov for a hands-on taste of local culture.
Discover the flavors of Khorezm through a private cooking experience in the home of a local chef. Your experience begins with pick-up in Khiva, where you will meet your local guide and travel to the chef’s home outside the city. The drive takes around 20–30 minutes and gives you a chance to see a more local side of the Khorezm region beyond the old town.
At the chef’s private home, enjoy a warm and personal setting where you can learn about traditional Khorezmian food, ingredients, and family cooking traditions. Together with the chef, prepare one of the region’s signature dishes: shivit oshi, tuhum barak, or Khorezmian plov. Your guide will stay with you throughout the experience to help with translation and make the workshop easy and comfortable. This is a hands-on experience, so you will take part in the preparation rather than simply watching.
Once the dish is ready, sit down and enjoy the meal you have helped prepare in the chef’s home. After the experience, transportation back to Khiva is included. This workshop is ideal for travelers who want to go beyond restaurants and discover Khorezmian cuisine through a genuine local experience in a private home setting.
