Day 1: Bukhara — The Noble City

Discover ancient Bukhara, one of the best-preserved medieval cities in Central Asia. Known as "Bukhara the Noble," this UNESCO World Heritage city showcases over 2,000 years of continuous habitation and stunning Islamic architecture.

Activities

  • 06:00 - Early morning departure from Tashkent via high-speed train (recommended) or domestic flight
  • 09:30 - Arrive in Bukhara and begin with the ancient Ark Fortress — the seat of Bukharan emirs for over a millennium
  • 10:30 - Visit the stunning Bolo-Hauz Mosque with its 20 carved wooden columns reflected in the ceremonial pool
  • 11:30 - Explore the Ismail Samani Mausoleum — a 10th-century architectural masterpiece and one of Central Asia's oldest Islamic monuments
  • 12:30 - Traditional Bukharan lunch at a historic courtyard restaurant
  • 14:00 - Walk through the famous Trading Domes — Toki Sarrafon, Toki Telpak Furushon, and Toki Zargaron — medieval covered bazaars still alive with artisans
  • 15:00 - Visit the Kalon Minaret and Mosque complex — the iconic "Tower of Death" that impressed even Genghis Khan
  • 16:00 - Explore the Mir-i Arab Madrasa (exterior) and wander the atmospheric old quarter
  • 17:00 - Tea ceremony at Lyabi-Hauz — the picturesque plaza centered around a 17th-century pool
  • 17:30 - Visit local artisan workshops: miniature painting, silk weaving, or metalwork demonstrations
