During this hands-on masterclass, a skilled local artisan will introduce you to the meaning behind traditional patterns — symbols of abundance, protection, harmony, and eternity. You’ll then work with natural pigments, including the famous cobalt oxide that creates Samarkand’s signature blue. Guided step by step, you’ll practice traditional brush techniques and decorate your chosen piece — a tea bowl (piyola), decorative plate, or ceramic tile inspired by historic designs.
