Explore Bukhara’s old town with a local host, then join an immersive knife-making workshop and create the blade of a traditional Uzbek knife through a hands-on craft experience.
Step into the timeless atmosphere of Bukhara with an experience that begins with hotel pick-up and an immersive walk through the heart of the old town with a local host. This cultural stroll offers a deeper and more personal way to experience the city beyond its famous monuments. As you wander through historic streets and atmospheric corners, you will hear stories about Bukhara’s culture, daily life, and Silk Road legacy, while taking in the beauty, rhythm, and historic charm that make the city so unforgettable.
The highlight of the experience is a traditional knife-making workshop, where you will be introduced to the craftsmanship behind one of Uzbekistan’s most distinctive handmade objects. Over the course of around three hours, you will take part in the full process of creating the blade for a traditional Uzbek knife, gaining insight into the skill, care, and precision this craft requires. More than just a demonstration, the workshop offers a meaningful hands-on experience and a deeper appreciation for the artistry behind traditional knife making. At the end of the experience, you will be able to take your handmade blade with you as a special keepsake from Bukhara.
