Discover the flavors of Bukhara through a hands-on plov cooking workshop. Join a local host, learn traditional techniques, and enjoy preparing and tasting Uzbekistan’s most iconic dish.
Your experience begins with pick-up and accompaniment by a local host, who will stay with you throughout the activity and help make the experience smooth, personal, and engaging. Upon arrival, you’ll be introduced to the ingredients, techniques, and cultural significance of Bukhara plov — a regional version of Uzbekistan’s famous rice dish, known for its rich flavor, careful preparation, and important role in daily life and celebration.
During the workshop, you’ll prepare traditional Bukhara plov from scratch, learning step by step how the dish comes together. From preparing the ingredients to understanding the cooking process, you’ll take part in the making of this classic meal in a relaxed and authentic setting. Along the way, you’ll gain insight into why plov holds such a special place in Uzbek culture and how recipes can vary from region to region.
Once the cooking is complete, the experience continues around the table, where you’ll enjoy the plov you helped prepare. Warm, flavorful, and deeply rooted in tradition, this is a wonderful way to connect with Bukhara through its food and share a meaningful local experience beyond the usual sightseeing.
