Day 1
Across the Mountains to Silk-Famous City of Margilan
Your journey begins early in Tashkent as you set off by car toward the Fergana Valley, crossing the spectacular Kamchik Pass and enjoying ever-changing mountain scenery along the way. After a traditional lunch en route and check-in at your hotel, you'll head to Margilan—the historic heart of Uzbekistan's silk tradition. Explore the renowned Yodgorlik Silk Factory, where you'll follow the fascinating journey from silkworm cocoon to handwoven fabric, discover the artistry behind ikat textiles, and meet local artisans preserving centuries-old techniques. You'll also stroll through the newly opened Silk Road Artisan Park, a vibrant cultural space celebrating the region's rich craftsmanship and creative heritage. In the evening, the experience continues with a hands-on Fergana-style plov cooking class, where you'll prepare one of Uzbekistan's most iconic dishes alongside local hosts before enjoying dinner together.

Citizens of the US, UK, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the EU and many other countries can enter Uzbekistan visa-free for stays of up to 30 days. Other travellers can apply for a fast e-visa online. Please check requirements for your passport before booking.
Moderate — there is walking in historic city centres, bazaars and old neighbourhoods. The craft workshops are beginner-friendly and the pace is unhurried. There are no long hikes or strenuous activities.
Curious travellers, solo visitors, couples, families and small groups of friends who want cultural depth rather than checklists. The tour is suitable for adults of all ages; children twelve and over are welcome with a parent.
A per-person deposit secures your spot. Final balance is due 90 days before departure. Cancellations more than 90 days out forfeit the deposit; 60–90 days, 50% of total; under 60 days, full price. We strongly recommend travel insurance.
