在著名的孔尼吉尔磨坊学习古老的丝绸造纸艺术。
Your experience begins with hotel pick-up and a scenic drive to Konigil Village, a historic craft center where Samarkand's famous silk paper is still produced using centuries-old methods. Accompanied by your local guide, you'll explore a working paper mill and witness the entire production process in action. From peeling mulberry bark and preparing the fibers to watching giant waterwheel-powered wooden hammers transform the material into pulp, you'll gain a fascinating insight into one of Central Asia's most remarkable living traditions. As you walk through the workshop, you'll see how the pulp is formed into paper sheets and learn how these techniques have been preserved for generations.
After exploring the traditional mill, you'll continue to a separate workshop location for a hands-on silk paper making masterclass. Here, a skilled local artisan will guide you through the process of creating your own sheet of paper using traditional tools and techniques. Working with prepared mulberry pulp, you'll learn how to form a sheet on a screen, remove excess water, and understand the delicate craftsmanship behind each piece of handmade paper. Along the way, you'll have the opportunity to ask questions, interact with the artisan, and enjoy a genuine cultural exchange. Please note that the paper you create will require additional drying time and will remain at the workshop. To ensure you leave with a tangible souvenir, each guest will receive a finished artisan-made sheet of traditional silk paper to take home. Following the workshop, you'll be comfortably transferred back to your hotel or another agreed location in Samarkand, carrying with you a deeper appreciation of one of Uzbekistan's most unique and enduring crafts.
