在著名的孔尼吉尔磨坊学习古老的丝绸造纸艺术。
Discover the ancient craft of Samarkand silk paper through an immersive, hands-on experience that connects you with one of Uzbekistan's most extraordinary living traditions. Your experience begins with hotel pick-up and a comfortable drive to the workshop of a local artisan family who revived the centuries-old art of Samarkand silk paper making after it had nearly disappeared. Meet the family behind this remarkable revival and hear the inspiring story of how they brought this unique Silk Road tradition back to life, preserving it for future generations. Before creating your own paper, you'll experience the complete production process step by step alongside the artisans. From stripping and preparing the mulberry bark, boiling the fibers, and pounding them into fine pulp with traditional wooden hammers, to forming delicate sheets by hand on wooden screens, pressing them, and preparing them for drying, you'll witness every stage of this fascinating craft exactly as it has been practiced for centuries. As the family demonstrates each step, they'll explain the techniques, history, and cultural significance that make Samarkand silk paper one of the Silk Road's most treasured artistic traditions.
After the demonstration, it's your turn to become an artisan. Guided by the family, you'll use traditional tools and freshly prepared mulberry pulp to create your own sheet of authentic silk paper, learning the patience and precision required to master this centuries-old technique. Please note that the sheet you create will need time to dry and will remain at the workshop. As a special keepsake, each guest will instead receive a beautifully finished sheet of handmade Samarkand silk paper crafted by the artisan family. At the end of your experience, you'll be comfortably transferred back to your hotel, taking with you not only a unique handcrafted souvenir, but also the unforgettable memory of meeting the family who rescued this ancient craft from extinction and continue to keep one of Uzbekistan's greatest artistic traditions alive.
